ReFlax

The zipper is one of the biggest challenges in creating an eco-designed product because it requires additional labor when recycling. 

Our proposition  is to replace this closure with a system inspired by paper folding techniques. With a simple rotation gesture, we implement a closing principle that can be integrated into a single material process. 

 This closure system offers two sustainable  solutions: a rectangular cut-out pattern composed of internal and external seams to structure the shape;  a single piece woven with the structural elements.  In these two cases we can extract fairly simple bag shapes, either thought out in square and triangular patterns, or in a single pattern woven in one go.
